Steffi Graf won her first Wimbledon crown in 1988 and beacme the first female German champion at the All England Club since Cilly Aussem in 1931.
Though she was already the most popular tennis lady and 100% recognised person in Germany, this victory increases media interest on her to much.
Philip de Picciotto, Steffi Graf's business representative, estimated there were 700 requests for interviews after Graf won Wimbledon in July.
